Park & Ride

A free car park and shuttle bus will be available for all visitors arriving by car. This is located just off Junction 8 of the M61 (on the opposite side of the M61 to the temple). Click here for a Google Maps link

Regular shuttle buses will run at the following times to get you to and from the Pageant:
-Evening performance between 17:00-20:00 and between 21:30-23:00
-Matinee performance between 11:00-14:00 and between 15:30-17:00

COME EARLY: The Country Fair & Discovery Experience opens 2 hours before performance start times.

Coaches

For groups arriving by coach, instruct your driver to access the Temple site via Temple Way where passengers will be able to alight. The coach will need to park off-site during performances until pick-up time.

Disabled/Blue Badge Parking

There are a number of blue badge parking spaces in the Temple Car Park. We recommend booking these in advance by using the form at the bottom of the Tickets information page to avoid disappointment. These spaces will be prioritised for drivers with disabilities and we ask that passengers with disabilities are be dropped off on the temple site before parking at the park and ride.

By Train & Bus

The nearest train station is Chorley which is 1.5 miles away. Several buses run along Preston Road which is a 2-minute walk away.

Park & Ride Location Maps

• When arriving please ensure you follow the signs for “British Pageant Parking”. This will take you on the other side of the motorway (M61 Junction 8 – roundabout exit to Blackburn/Wheelton) and you will be greeted by our helpers at the Pageant park and ride area. Parking will be located in a designated field so you may want to bring suitable footwear. You can access the free shuttle bus to the pageant site from here, this will only take a few minutes. There will also be a shuttle bus to return you to the field at the end of the performance.
• Only Blue Badge holders can access the temple site for parking. Where possible, please drop
  off any passengers who have mobility needs and return to the park and ride area.
• The Preston Temple will be open for the duration of the pageant so please only park in
  temple designated parking areas whilst attending the temple. Pageant visitors are asked to use the park and ride.
• Please wear sensible shoes and comfortable clothing. There is no set dress code for the
  event, we can never rely on the traditional British weather, so be prepared with sun cream,
  warm clothing and umbrellas!
• There are no facilities on the temple site for food and drink.
• Portable toilet facilities will be signposted on site.
• There will be a free family friendly Country Fair featuring dancing, vintage photography,
  music and games that will begin at 6pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and midday
  and 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
• There will also be a Discovery Experience, alongside the Country Fair, featuring interactive
  opportunities to discover more about your family history. We recommend you download
  and sign in to the familysearch.org app before arriving.
• Performance start times will be at 8pm for all evening performances and 2pm for matinee
  performances on Fridays and Saturdays. Doors will be opened 30 minutes before each performance begins. Please note 5 minutes before the performance starts we fill empty seats with those waiting in stand-by.
• If for any reason you no longer need to use any tickets, please email the unwanted tickets to
  returns@one-stage.com stating the booking name, email address, and performance date.
  This will enable us to release the tickets for others to use.
